  1. A research that would be interesting:
-Description of the item to be investigated: degree of politeness of Highschool children/teneegers when addressing the teachers for requests.
-Previous research on the topic: types of politeness, types of requests, requests in children.
-Hypothesis/research questions: are highschool girls more polite than boys when addressing teachers for requests?
-Methodology: the participans would be boys and girls from the same class in a Highschool in the province of Seville, aged 14 to 15. The data collected are video recordings of full lessons. The research is based only in the same class with only one teacher. The data then is analysed: the type of requests from the students and how polite they are.
-Results: they will probably show that girls are generally more polite than boys when addressing teachers for requests. This study could be longer, studying different classes and different Highschools from other places, and we could also do a future research comparing different children in Highschools from different countries.

Description : Body language of young people used in different social situations - with family, friends, teachers

The research would be interesting as we all know how important non-verbal communication is and how greatly it contributes to the act of conversation.

Previous research: studies of the meaning of gestures, facial expressions, eye contact
Hypothesis: Body language will change depending on the surrounding environment.

Methodology: There will be 4 participants at the age of 20, each one. There will be 2 Spanish boys and 2 Spanish girls. The data will be collected by means of video recording (field observation). The duration of the data collection will be 1 week. Every day each of the participants will be recorded while talking with family, friends and teachers.

Results: Body language changes depending on the people a participant is surrounded by. While being among friends and the members of the family the distance is smaller and more gestures are used. The situation is reversed while a participant interacts with a teacher.

  6. I'm so sorry to write this post right now but i had no time to write before.

i did a research when i was in Sheffield and it had to do with how one word or expression can be said in so many different ways by different people.
Previous research: Andalusian vocabulary, studies about lexicography and lexicology, studies about Sevillian vocabulary.
The Participants were all Sevillian people from three different generations: young people,middle-aged people and old people. I made the research by means of showing them a series of pictures and they had to say which word they used such as: sueter,estufa,aparcamiento...elements that could have different ways of saying. I also made a questionnaire with a series of expressions that could also be saying in different ways such as:"persona pesada","dar un paseo" and things like that.
In order to get to a conclusion I made some charts: one for the images in which I draw the more frequent words they used and divided between the three generations; and the second one for the questions in the same manner just to see the Age Variables.
The result was that younger people have a great range of meaning and they could say different words just for one element or expression maybe because of the new technologies while old people, for instance, are more “deep-rooted” because they do not have easily access to them and cannot “change” their vocabulary so much.
